    Weekly CPU Prices - Week of May 12, 2008-May 15, 2008
Although both AMD and Intel have been adding new processors to our listings, it has still have virtually no effect on overall pricing. This week is more of the same, as two new Phenom X3 models hit the mass market - the same number of CPUs that showed a drop in price. If you're looking for a new CPU or just want to see where the market is heading, be sure to check out the detailed price lists and commentary in our Weekly CPU Pricing Guide.

    Gigabyte Radeon HD 3870 512MB Review-May 14, 2008
The Radeon HD 3870 512MB is positioned as ATI's answer to the mainstream performance question, and for the most part, it has done extremely well. After introducing a standard reference design, Gigabyte has put its own spin on the Radeon HD 3870, complete with a Zalman GPU cooler and Ultra Durable 2 design. Check out the review to see how it did in our performance and overclocking tests.

    High-End Memory Prices - Week of May 12, 2008-May 13, 2008

If you want the inside scoop on the high-end memory market, then don't miss our detailed price list and commentary, and see who is offering the best values.

    Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Review-May 15, 2008
Fair warning: It costs $3,000. Fair warning: You won't care. Lenovo's lightweight goes toe to toe with Apple's MacBook Air -- well, it would if the Air had a DVD burner, a LAN connection, and a sharper screen. Think about a solid-state hard disk, full-sized keyboard, ample battery life, and impeccable green credentials in a 13.3-inch, just-over-3-pound slimline. Now try to be satisfied with your current notebook.

    Platform Trends: DDR-3 Heads for the Mainstream-May 9, 2008
Long ago, Intel decided that desktop PCs should use RDRAM, and riots in the marketplace forced a reversal. Now the processor giant is spurring the move from today's DDR-2 to higher-bandwidth, more energy-efficient DDR-3 memory for desktops -- and, with the forthcoming Centrino 2 spec, notebooks as well. Vince Freeman looks at the pros, cons, price points, and performance issues surrounding the transition.

    Samsung SCX-4500 Multifunction Printer Review-May 6, 2008
It's one fancy desk accessory: Samsung's 6.5-inch-high black box looks more like a jet-black piece of home theater equipment or modern sculpture than the monochrome laser printer/scanner/copier it is. The $300 all-in-one's speed, quiet operation, and output quality are impressive, too -- but small-office operators will have to decide whether to make a few sacrifices for style.

    Gates Provides More Windows 7 Details-May 15, 2008
Call it executive privilege. Bill Gates may be about to retire from the day to day activities of Microsoft, the company he co-founded 33 years ago, but he's still a card carrying tech visionary and since he's still the chairman of the board and the largest stockholder, he can spout off about new products and technologies as much as he wants.

Enterprise Spending On Virtualization To Rise-May 15, 2008
Recession? Virtualization remains a hot seller, according to the latest quarterly survey by ChangeWave Research. In fact, the faltering economy may have a lot to do with virtualization's continued strong sales.

Why Are AMD Systems Prone to SP3 Problems?-May 14, 2008
As with any patch/service pack, Service Pack 3 for Windows XP has not been without its hiccups. This is more or less standard, as Microsoft can't test every possible configuration out there. However, one issue has come up that's causing some finger pointing and claims of an OEM taking a shortcut, a shortcut Microsoft warned them not to take.

    AMD Phenom X3 8750 Review-April 23, 2008

    ASUS EN8800GT TOP 512MB Review-April 21, 2008
The 65nm GeForce 8800 GT was designed as an alternative to the mainstream GeForce 8600 GTS and high-end GeForce 8800 GTS models, but companies like ASUS decided to close the gap even further. Using custom designed, pre-overclocked cards like the EN8800GT TOP 512MB, ASUS has helped blur the lines between the mainstream and high-end markets.

The 65nm GeForce 8800 GT was designed to bridge the gap between the mainstream GeForce 8600 GTS and high-end GeForce 8800 GTS models, but Gigabyte thought it could go one better. Their latest GeForce 8800 GT 512MB card features a custom design, complete with Zalman cooler and higher clock speeds, which all add up to a very interesting high-end graphics card.

    AMD 780G Chipset Review-March 5, 2008
Integrated graphics have not enjoyed much success in the gaming arena, with low performance and poor game compatibility being the most common complaints. The AMD 780G may not solve all the problems, but its integrated Radeon HD 3200 graphics core is certainly a big step in the right direction, and helps double it as a killer HTPC platform.
