3dfx Interactive announced the availability of the Voodoo5 5500 AGP in leading retail chains and e-tailers worldwide. The Voodoo5 5500 exploits the power of two VSA-100 graphics processing chips running in parallel by coupling them in a Scan Line Interleave (SLI) mode configuration and performing 3D acceleration from both chips simultaneously, resulting in a doubling of overall 3D performance. The Voodoo5 5500 features the company's proprietary T-Buffer digital cinematic effects engine as well as two VSA-100 chips 64MB of video memory. The 350 MHz RAMDAC supports resolutions up to 2048x1536. Bundled with InterVideo's WinDVD software DVD player as well as 3Deep and True Internet Color, the Voodoo5 5500 AGP's MSRP is $299.
