Hey just trying to start a disscusion on fans and heatsinks....."Which one should win tonight? Let fate and motheboards decide that."

The YS Tech 120mm "Wind Tunnel".

    131cfm!

    By Soldier_Of_Evil January 09, 2001, 10:46 PM

Hey sounds good, never heard of it though.....i say the best one is the FOP38-1, or its modification at www.3dfxcool.com/bigmofoho.htm
......lol im getting that thing as soon as pompadorean gets it....

    By CajnDave January 09, 2001, 10:47 PM

Air Cooled Fan/heatsink combo. I vote for the Golbal Win FDP32 Super Monster.

Oh, sorry. I just named the biggest, loudest baddest fan. The best HSF is the FOP 38 (variant according to CPU). Still, though, there is a soft spot in my heart for the Hedgehog with a Delta 38cfm fan.

Well, I'm personally a big fan of the FOP38-1, even though there may be better performing hsfs out there, I'll bet they cost a lot more.

Hehe. I could just see someone trying to mount a YS Tech 120mm on their heatsink.

That would be sooo stupid, yet very amusing!

    By Soldier_Of_Evil January 09, 2001, 10:53 PM

HELL YEA JAMES____________THAT THING IS BAD!!!!!!!I would have got it but theres not that much space on my K7T Pro......**** it!!

i think the modified version is better. its just a different fan that has more cfm but its quieter (80m 40cfm). I'm gonna order it tomorrow. i'll tell ya how it is when i get it. i'm sure it'll be better than a fop38 cause it'll cool better by about a degree nad it'll be quieter! I can't wait.

i have that for heatsink fan for my sister pc. it run great. bester that the fob 38. well for those who already have fob 32 or 38 than all you need i find a quite 80mm fan no need to modify it. the clip is easy to expane to fit with your new 80mm fan. ectualy my modify fob 38 is quiter than the new taisol and work bester than fob38 with delta fan too. my 80mm fan that i have is an old fan from my power supplies so i don't know what is cfm rate .

So is that the 1.4G Tbird you were talking about recently?

    By overdriver January 11, 2001, 05:26 PM

hmm.. are you sure 80mm fan is better than Alpha fan(6800rpm)? I am considering buying FOP32 because of noise, but if what you are saying is right then, I will try this circus and.. did you installed the fan to blow into heatsink or suck the air out of heatsink? Thank you for sharing your exp.
