  • Valentine's Day is quickly approaching - have you done your shopping yet? Still don't know what to get that special someone? If you're as sick of those overly-used, cliché gifts that end up flying off store shelves on February 13th, consider something a little more useful than a trite box of Godiva's or a cheap Merlot. I know what you're thinking though, "How can computer hardware be romantic?" Be creative, people! Buy a web cam for your long distance sweetheart so you can teleconference! Invest in some new speakers so you can play "Endless Love" on repeat (spare us, please). On top of serving as one of your best sources for technical help, SharkyForums.com is a great place for gift ideas for any age, and any gender. Just like Radio Shack - you've got questions, we've got answers.

Each week we take several of the most popular/insightful/controversial threads and present them to you for easy digestion. Feel free to add your own thoughts (subtract the profanity, please) and help us multiply the reader participation here at Sharky Extreme (and you thought math was tough…). We've added links on each spotlight page so you can easily add your own comments and contribute to the debate! If your repartee strikes us as useful, humorous, or otherwise entertaining, it stands the distinct possibility of being featured next week. Without further ado…

    AMD Industry Interview
Last week it was NVIDIA, and this week it's AMD under the flood lamps. Feel free to post whatever questions you'd like to be answered, and we will sort through them and decide which ones get answered.

Intel To Cut Prices By 40%
Just when processor prices were starting to stabilize, Intel looks to be dropping their prices once again! We don't expect them to drop to the level AMD has set yet, but for those on the market for Intel CPU's, this should help.

Shots Of Quake III Running On Rampage
For the nostalgic types, a few shots of Quake III running on an alpha-silicon Rampage have popped up, along with the confirmation of a couple of ex-3dfx employees. Think we'll see anything from NVIDIA with the same kind of technology?

Both of these cards are well priced and have their advantages, but the consensus seems to be to go with the RADEON DDR. If you have an opinion on the matter, feel free to post!

    Fighting PC Noise
A noble quest, I'm sure. If you aren't an overclocker (in other words, if you don't have 15 80mm fans blowing full time in your case) you are likely interested in quieting the noise made by your system. If so, check out this thread and post your own comments.

    Star Trek Ships
Like Star Trek? I hope so, because this thread is 22 pages of Star Trek conversation running the entire gamut of ST-related topics. Enjoy!
