We've added links on each spotlight page so you can easily add your own comments and contribute to the debate! If your repartee strikes us as useful, humorous, or otherwise entertaining, it stands the distinct possibility of being featured next week.

Highly Technical PC Forum: What is DDR exactly?
I know it stands for Double Data Rate, but how do the DDR architecture different, if at all? I mean, what is the difference between, say, 100Mhz DDR (effectively 200MHz) and just normal 200MHz? Is it just that with DDR, data is processed on the peak and trough of each CPU cycle, and with normal 200MHz data is only processed once per cycle, but there are twice as many cycles per second?

Highly Technical PC Forum: ADSL vs. CABLE MODEM
I'll get one of these 2 services soon. In my country (Argentina), ADSL has just recently been introduced in the market, but I know that you can download from sites such as download.com or with Napster at about 40 KB/S and with CM you get only about 20 kbs. From some local sites you can download at full speed. I'd been told that when CM was released here, about 2 years.

    General Games: LucasArts Very Disappointing
Is the maker of such great games of the past like Jedi Knight, Grim Fandango and Maniac Mansion losing it's touch? Shouyld they start thinking about getting out of the gaming biz? Voice your opinion here!

Programming, Coding, and Scripting: Oh God
Check out how NOT to code a java game of pick up sticks in this thread! Does this actually compile? Hey, where is the documentation?

Off Topic: The stories behind the names...
How did you pick your username at SharkyForums? Do you have a meaningful story behind it or did you just randomly choose it? Tell us here!

Article / Site Feedback: When Did Gameplay Become an Afterthought in Gaming?
Following a recent editorial by our Managing Editor, Housen Maratouk, gamers chimed in with both praise and "are you nuts?" messages to the article. While some of us do indeed see a lot of regurgitated game ideas, some took the time to point out new ideas as well.

CPU Processors / Overclocking: What is a good QUIET heatsink/fan for a Thunderbird?
Using a Global Win FOP32- with a Thunderbird 1.33 makes for some very LOUD results. Forum reader 'gummo23' is looking for a more quieter alternative, and our readers in the know chime in with quite a few good ideas and suggestions in this forum thread.
