I think Manny Calavera (Grim Fandango) and Max Payne, Manny because he's actually a game character with heart and soul, and he is just so cool and has a cool voice, the voice and cool factor goes for Max Payne too. Max's voice is very cool and suits the game perfectly.

Shadow Warrior character is pretty cool also , and serius sam

Garret, from Thief, had some of the best character developement I think.

Cate Archer and Lara Croft cause they can probably bang like animals.

Beat from Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio in US) the character design is excellent.

Father Ignatius Blackward from Nightmare Creatures. Man is out there in the dead of night all alone in rain and snow fighting zombie legions while everyone else is cozy in thier homes. All the while he's got that same eyes open stare ready for the next wave. That's real character.
