I agree, the system looks pretty darn good. Pls let me know if you go w/ the Logitech Z560's...I am thinking about them myself and am looking for a gunia (sp) pig to test them out before I buy. Everything I read though says they are pretty bad ass .

when i tested the GF3Ti500 against the Radeon 8500, i liked the Radeon better. maybe that's just me, but Radeon is fast in OpenGL, AND DirectX, i find the Radeon same as the Ti500 in OpenGL, and much faster in DirectX.

Looks like one A$$ kicking system...for the HDD, if you can, go with a DMP D740X, they're awesome! totally whoop any other HDD, the closest competition is GXP60 but that doesn't OC well. The logitech sound system is supposed to be the best...and the price is right too. Wonder where i could find one...I'm practically building the same sys in like a week. Thinking of ordering my crucial tommorrow, then going out and buying the rest of the stuff from local shops (i live in japan so i don't have the luxury of net shopping except for the ram). Cool, hope it works well for you. And yes...the Ti200 can be Oc'd very well if it has the 4ns ram, i think a couple use 5ns which don't OC for crap. The ones that use 4ns usually can get to 500mhz ram and 240mhz core. That's one hell of a deal if you want to go with Nvidia. Otherwise, radeon 8500 is great except the drivers still need a lot of work (probably > 4 months before they start to be done performance wise).

Please specify what type of power supply/case is being used. The reason I ask is because simply saying "400W" no longer cuts it. I've seen 400W power supplies that don't keep up with my 300W on the 3.3V and 5V lines. If its not pumping 175W+, I would be worried with the system that you're building. Please let us know which brand/model power supply you're considering.Peace

thanks guys, i'll consider the hard drive. However, all of this talk of the radeon 8500 makes me nervous. is it just as fast as the ti500? what about thos drivers? and most importantly, (for me) does it look any better?

So yes... it has alot of head room to improve on speed. I think you should get it, and for the price its a sweet deal I think 213$ ON newegg.com

Pretty decent system, but it lacks in one area: HARD DRIVE!!!40 gigs won't last you too long. Pick up an 80 gig 7200rpm Maxtor, and it'll be the ultimate system for now =) Maxtors are pretty reliable. I have a 60gig, and it's been functioning with no errors/crashes, and its virtually silent. I cant hear it when the HD is spinning like mad... have fun with ure new system =)

It will end up being the same difference as if they were both at default speeds. Just logic.

true true... but right now there aren't any games(that I know of) that canny fully even use a gf3... but then again thats why I saved the bux and went for a g2pro because by the time any games are out; the next gen of video cards will be out... then I will buy the "old gf3" and save more bux... not like I really need 2 billion fps in quake anyways...
