Turtle Beach Santa Cruz: any good?
    By Evan8 November 10, 2000, 03:25 PM

thinking about getting a Santa Cruz. Is it any good? The one review that i saw thought it was a very good card. Supports eax and a3d, and even has hardware mp3 decoding. WHat do you think about this vs sbLive! value?

The Santa Cruz is a good card, and I like mine. My only complaint is that the documentation is sketchy, and the drivers for Win2000 just are not all not that mature yet. I can't speak for any other drivers.

    Sounds typical of Win2K.

i was thinking of getting one, but now i may have changed my mind. My card is fine, and as i understand it, eax isn't used much. Is the hardware mp3 decoding any good/useful?

Also, my xitel storm has optical out, which i use, so i might not want to give that up. Besides, i think my $100 might be better used towards a new video card right now... =]

Agreed.. Although, the Creative drivers for their Live Series is not so bad for Win2K.
