    Cats or Dogs?
    By Galen_of_Edgewood November 21, 2000, 02:55 PM

Okay people, do you prefer cats, or dogs?

Personally, I prefer cats over dogs, though I still like dogs.

    Everyone else?

Big Tomcats would be cool if they didn't shed so much. I like there attitude, they just kick back minding there own business until someone F*#ks with them.
Nothing beats a Lab. Loyal, great retrivers, fun to play with, very inteligent for dogs and suprisingly protective. I watched my black lab take down a German Shepard that growled at my neighbors little 6yo boy.

    Dogs

By Mr. Wampus November 21, 2000, 03:27 PM

Always been a dog person, myself. At the moment I have both. I have a very happy and goofy black lab and a 4 month old brain damaged, psychotic kitty. I prefer the dog, he does what you tell him. The kitty is an unpredictable, unstable lunatic, but the dog seems to like him. Maybe that's the way all cats are and I just don't know it. This is my first cat, and he might also be my last one if he doesn't straighten up and fly right.

    By Angelus November 21, 2000, 03:28 PM

    hmm...

dogs are cool, but I gotta go with cats

    By GTaudiophile November 21, 2000, 03:32 PM

    Dogs!

Cats are not man's best friend.

    By PiNoY2oo1 November 21, 2000, 05:04 PM

    dogs, cuz cats scratch

    By PiNoY2oo1 November 21, 2000, 05:06 PM

besides, u didnt see them make a song called "who let the cats out?"

    By PiNoY2oo1 November 21, 2000, 05:07 PM

oh wait, i change my mind, neither bcuz either one of them might eat my pet bird , hm, excpet a chiwawa, my bird bit my friends chiwawa and it ran away

    By Klashe November 21, 2000, 05:21 PM

I now only own a cat and have never owned a dog and I can say that dogs are better. You don't own a cat....they own you. They walk around the house like they own the place. And they are sneaky sons of bitches too. Like sometimes I will go in my kitchen and the garbage can will be on the ground and my cat would sprint away from the can (and me) then stop and turn around to see if I actually noticed him in there. > Cats only love you when it's convinient for them too (i.e. when they want food) they'll ignore you the rest of the time. I would have preferred a dog.
But i love my cat. He has a good personality. He's just a pain sometimes.

    By IL96 November 21, 2000, 05:27 PM

I LIKE CATS, THEY TASTE JUST LIKE CHICKEN.

    By BoogyMan November 21, 2000, 07:30 PM

    Cats.

    They are more intelligent.

They can survive on their own.

    They don't drool.

Their wild equivilant would kick the shit out of the dogs wild equivilant.

I don't have to get up at 2am to "walk" the cat.

    They don't drool.

They don't need you, they like you.

So basically you are saying cats are like most women. There I added most for the few men who were lucky, cough, to find the rare good one.JK

    By slipgun November 21, 2000, 07:37 PM

CATS! When I go cycling round my neighborhood each morning, what those damned dogs won't do to chase me, barking their heads off... the cats are alright...

    By slipgun November 21, 2000, 07:38 PM

    And they don't bite!

    By Galen_of_Edgewood November 22, 2000, 12:09 AM

Wow. I didn't know that a Lab would do that.

They're great dogs, even around children. Wonderfully gentle dogs, especially considering their size. What freaks me out is that they can control their strength so well!

    By Galen_of_Edgewood November 22, 2000, 12:12 AM

4 month old kitten? Here's a quick way to figure out what they're doing. They seem to have, in my experience, three modes of operation at this age.

Hyperactive, ludicrous speed (a la Spaceballs)
    Tired, but still fast speeds
    Asleep

There is very little variation inbetween these levels. They seem to stay at the first one for the bulk of the day, and possibly even at night.

You've got a good Lab there. I like dogs who like cats.

Good enough reason for me! I've never owned a Golden Retriever. I have a Golden Lab mix who's in the 100 lbs arena. I love that dog. I just prefer cats inside because they can sit on your lap and not hurt you, with their weight, that is.

Which kind of cats are you refering to? I would like to own a Maine Coon. They're big kitties.

    quote:Originally posted by PiNoY2oo1:

Pretty simple reason for that. A doggie ain't nothing if he don't have a bone. A cat, on the other hand is always everything, all the time. They don't need no stupid bone.

    By Galen_of_Edgewood November 22, 2000, 12:26 AM

I like cats primarily because of their individuality. Yes, most dogs have their own personality, but they seem to always need a human. Cats, while liking to have a human around, don't need one. I kinda like that. They choose to stay around me, and that makes me feel good.

Cats are boring. they smell up the house with their crap box and they just lay around the house. Gurantee you it wouldnt happen. have a good day

Actually, cats are a great pet for men. Because they are independent creatures, they are likely not to want constant attention, unlike dogs. This suits men well. The problem comes when you want to play with them and they'd rather not. That's when they show that they are in control.

Hey, a great reason to own a cat is that they seem to be one of the best alarm clocks in the morning. They get into a rhythm that you set (like if you usually get up at 6:30a), and from then on will make sure that you will wake up. (Hey, they get hungry!)

Well, I am a guy and I like my dog. I know a lot of guys who like their dogs. Cats are great for people who dont have the time or they are always on the run. Secondly, my dog is a great alarm clock. every morning at 6 he gets up, and you want to know why? cuz hes hungry.

    Dogs just smell.

Still, I love my dog. Great dog. He's extremely intelligent, but annoyingly, doesn't like to use it too much. Even if he smells bad.

Believe it or not, I've never had a problem kicking a dog in the head if they were chasing me on a bike. Then again, I've only had one or two dogs ever chase me.

Cats aren't boring! They can be annoyingly playful at times. When they get old, though... And you shouldn't keep a crap box for them inside the house! Let them do it outside. I'd never let my cats have their own "toilet" inside the house.

Reminds me of that movie Meet The Parents. funn stuffy. I just dont like cats. Never have, never will. Probably comes from the fact that I was brought up around dogs. Most of my friends that have cats have to have a crap box in the house cuz the cats dont go outside much.

    By Galen_of_Edgewood November 22, 2000, 10:34 AM

Good dog, mon ami. I like labs as a breed. They're just about my favorite breed of dog. I like the look of the Husky, but I just don't want to have one down here in Texas. Seems like torture to me.

The litter box is not all that bad, if you keep it fairly empty and your cat actually covers it up.

Outside cats are usually kinda nice, though they're hard to find during spring and fall because the weather is nice. If it is raining, they like to be inside. If it is really cold, they like to be on your lap inside. If it is really hot, they'll stay outside and show up everyonce and a while to cool off. The only problem is that you end up worrying about them since you don't always see them.

I guess you know from my previous post that I'm a doggy person! they're just so playful! and if you scare them, don't act in violence. try freaking out a cat, they'll slice up your face and run for their dear life! stupid cats. btw, I'm allergic to cats, so that time where I accidently scared the cat, the dam thing put scratch marks all over my arms and back and it was swollen for about 2 hours before I had to goto the doctors to get some antibiotics. horrible experiences. and that reminds me. STUPID CATS, the only thing they're good for are soccer balls.
