  • Along with the usual Army Men releases for console, 3DO was demoing an early version of Legends of Might and Magic. Legends is basically intended to be a first person close combat game with spells and the usual Might and Magic stats system. Even at this early stage the graphics were looking pretty nice care of the LithTech 2 engine. Action was fast, spell casting easy and pretty, and they even had cow tipping (which we'd buy the game for alone - beats the hell out of shooting deer at the very least).

Amongst a slew of WWF titles, THQ had two titles due for the PC on display this year. Bruce Campbell turned up to promote Evil Dead: Hail to the King, and we swear he is the same off camera as he is on (although at E3 he didn't have any undead nearby on which to unleash his attitude). The game itself is simply looking good and of course how could the sound not sound good with Campbell providing the voice of Ash once more. Of course, we can't comment on the gameplay but that'll come in good time with a review if you're lucky.

The stars of THQ's lineup were the two titles from Volition. Summoner has been known about for a while now and it was great seeing it in action. The summoning process itself looks great from what we saw and the huge beats that you'll actually be able to Summon look just as powerful as they are, and take it for granted that some of them will be very powerful indeed.
