This looks like more of the same, being the third in a series of racing games, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The Grand Prix games received praise for being strong on graphics and realism, and for great gameplay, and if this third installment can keep the trend going, it’ll be a decent if perhaps derivative product.
The biggest change in the game is a new physics engine, and graphics will be updated for the newer 3D technology. Work is being put in to make Grand Prix 3 accessible to large audiences, and will include aids we’ve seen before, such as braking assist and automatic transmissions. But there will also be some new ideas like indicators for suggested gears, plus steering and throttle help, and five skill settings. Grand Prix 3 also appears to have a heavier emphasis on licensing and will feature all tracks, teams, and drivers of the Formula One Association. As before, expert players can tinker with vehicle settings such as tire adjustments and spring settings.
