  • More Star Trek?! Another sequel? We’re going to scream. But wait, this sequel is of one of the good Star Trek games: Interplay’s Starfleet Command. The name of this one is Starfleet Command Volume II - Empires at War, and with a snappy, breath-stealing name like that, how can it go wrong? Seriously, fans loved Starfleet Command for its detailed representation of the boardgame, Starfleet Battles on the PC, and Volume II will bring even more fun.

It’s all-out Kirk-style Trek as players hurl weapon fire at each other in efforts to uphold the Federation goals of beating the stuffing out of everyone and taking their real estate. Other playable races (with the exact same goals - imagine that!) include the Gorn, Klingon, Romulan, Lyran, Hydran, plus the new Interstellar Concordium and the mysterious Mirak. Interplay is looking at ways to improve on the first game, and will start by enriching play with an improved interface and the addition of new races, ships, and weapons. WON.net and Mplayer support for online play should provide plenty of gaming after the solo missions.
