Just in case any of you have been at a summer gulag camp, let us briefly explain just what Ion Storm's Anachronox is in a nutshell. The game itself is based upon one of those 'one bum on two chairs' type concepts. It's a 3D role playing game, which meshes id Software's trusty Quake 2 engine. With that in mind, as a player, you'll be able to control up to three characters at the same time. You'll also be able to choose from a total of seven- so choosing wisely could be the difference between clean and dirty pants.
By using the Quake 2 engine, Ion Storm, have not only been able to implement full 3D card support for their RPG but also give the player the full real-time 3D freedom that should add plenty to the RPG genre. So exploring Anochronox's environment and fraternizing with the various extra-terrestrial enemies will all be part and parcel. You'll even be able share a cup of tea with a few (no not really). In your quest for glory, weapons and other artifacts, you'll be hard up agaisnt it. Alas, Ion Storm have made sure to divert from linear gameplay allowing for multiple routes and different ways to do things within the game.
There are plenty of tasty touches such as real 3D battle sequences and hundreds of weapons effects. Ion Storm has also promised an epic storyline to go with Anochronox, making sure it is on an RPG'ers most wanted list. Anyway enough rambling, go on an take a gander at the latest Anochronox's shots and artworks ripped straight from the updated EPK.
