In direct contrast to the images of children walking house to house trick or treating, with costumes mimicking their favorite action hero, idol or villain is the darker side of Halloween; The undead, the monstrosities, the ghouls, the witchery… the Blood. Monolith Productions wants in on the Halloween scene, and they are positioned to do so with a sequel to Blood, a sleeper hit that gained a huge cult following (an oxymoron?), Blood 2: The Chosen.
Blood 2 takes place 100 years after Blood and features the same undead protagonist, Caleb, in his relentless pursuit of Cabal. Some old friends will assist Caleb including Ophelia, who was his lover in the original Blood. New faces will join the fray as well. These NPC characters, called the Chosen, will interact with Caleb throughout the game and will have a significant effect on the outcome.
Players will be able to choose from over 35 weapons and host of defensive spells. These weapons will range from a vanilla meat hook to a very potent rail launcher. The game itself is powered by Monolith's very own LithTech engine, made famous by Shogo: Mobile Armor Division (see review here). Monolith will release the full game in the first week of November. In the meantime, enjoy the demo:
