Blade won't just be about slaying though. You'll need to search, swim, crawl, climb and even fly your way around. Although there is one main plot to the game's story, there will also be sub-plot to explore. Even each of the levels will have primary and secondary missions adding longevity. Blade should still be able to muster up more action than Carl Weathers in Action Jackson.
Even though Blade the game has absolutely nothing to do with this summer's mega-flop Blade flick (yeah so crap it's right up there with the 'classic' Action Jackson), there sure will whole entourage of 3D first person shooters (yeah ones with RPG'ness in 'em too) this Christmas. Will both parties in Blade's marriage remain faithful? That's the million-dollar question (or in EIDOS' case, $10million for Daikatana). If Rebel Act studios can merge gorgeous graphics and an involving RPG-style of gameplay, it'll be no mean feat. Although Gremlin has at best only a Q4 ETA, we'll be keeping close tabs on it for you. We might even get Amer to wear some armor and done a pair of tights for the review so that he can 'feel' all medieval.
- It tries to mesh the two genres, RPG and 3D FPS, together
- It's got a medieval theme. That's good right?.
- The 3D engine 'looks the part'. 'Nuff said.
- There are a lot of weapons but still no cheese-wire
- Since Rebel Act don't have an office near a Hooters, the game won't feature a large breasted character (hang on that's a good thing?)
- We're usually keen on games that aren't shallow and require lots of faffing about without fragging.
- By meshing the two genres (RPG & 3D FPS) are they cooking a recipe for disaster?
- I only wish that they'd got Carl Weathers motion captured for the lead role in the game (and the film Blade too?).
