Case, hacker extraordinaire, sits down in a dark room and plugs his Ono-Sendai cyberdeck into the wall. He runs a data line from the jack in the side of his head to the deck. Through pure thought, he loads up the World Wide War Web hacking scripts he downloaded the night before. Bringing up a list of current battles, he chooses a promising skirmish and starts to wreak havoc.

Case looks over the current battle situation. He sees the US forces are greatly outnumbered by their EU foes, but have better equipment. They also appear to have a brilliant tactician running their side. Case runs a jamming program to make the US forces practically uncontrollable, and then, laughing maniacally, he replaces the US tank AIs with one modeled after junior high school dances. The US forces immediately splits into two forces which rapidly move towards opposite sides of the battlefield, cannons pointed at their treads. The EU forces then commence to easily destroy the US tanks and their socially inept AIs in spite of the US tactician's ingenious and valiant efforts. Unfortunately, that brilliant tactician is you, and you are totally screwed.

The pitiful plot for Wargasm is as follows. It is the year 2025. Three years ago, international disarmament treaties were signed, completely removing all physical military threats from the world. War was to be fought solely in a virtual reality construct called the World Wide War Web (WWWW). All equipment for every nation was modeled after their real life equipment of the time. Rich areas like North America now have high technology virtual armies; poor ones like Africa now have low technology virtual armies. Battles are now fought for resources and power, which are immediately transferred to the winning side after a battle.
