Ace Azzameen sits down at the saabac table at Dunari's Casino. He smiles, remembering the story Lando Calrissian told him aboard the Millennium Falcon. The one about how Han Solo won the Falcon from Lando in a game of saabac, much like the game Ace is about to join.

Fortunately for Ace, he is just playing for credits. Ace places a fifty-credit chip on the table and collects his cards. The force is not with Ace and he gets a terrible hand. His credits quickly disappear into the winner's greedy arms, all eight of them. The lucky arachnid grins widely under it's many faceted eyes. Ace sighs and remembers Luke Skywalker's friendly and ethereally voiced words that followed Ace as he headed for the shuttle to the casino. "Lose your shorts, Ace. Lose your shorts!"

You play "Ace" Azzameen, the youngest son in a family that runs an interstellar shipping business. You start out running basic missions for your family, such as defending cargo from the evil K'Armyn Viraxo. Viraxo is the owner of a rival shipping company and is in cahoots with the Empire. No dirty underhanded tactic is beneath him.

Eventually, you join the Rebel Alliance, then things really start getting interesting. We don't want to give too much away, but you end up playing major roles in events that occur behind the scenes in the films. The plot is engrossing and complicated. At no point does it get predicable. The plot is closely tied to the missions you fly, so you really feel like you're part of the story in true Lucas Arts fashion. In a marketplace where plots and characters are frowned upon, Rebel Alliance stands out in a great way.
