Think "Sabotage." We mean Sabotage as in the Beastie Boys video of the same name. Think 1970's vintage American iron, big block V8's flying off hilltops in San Francisco. Think undercover cops with mustaches and hairy chests driving in chases through New York traffic. Don't think different, think Driver, because baby, you are the wheelman!

You play Tanner, an undercover cop trying to infiltrate the mob by posing as a driver for hire. Your missions take you through the cities of New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in the pursuit of justice, at high speed. Each city is modeled after the real thing and they average 150,000 buildings per city. Add landmarks like the Empire State Building to the mix and you've got the feel of where you are. And after the chase, you can edit a film of the action from various angles to recreate your own Blues Brothers crashstravoganza. When you're done editing, you can sit back and watch yourself bottom out on a dip from the front seat of those who you left in the dust.

The control of Driver is tons of fun. The feel is perfect arcade. You slip and slide around with ease in your 70's pimpmobiles but you have to really screw-up if you want to lose control. It's fun for novices who do not want a steep learning curve as well as pros that want a car they can throw around. The feel of driving is Driver's best aspect.
