Robin "Hood" Smedley lies on the ground under a gray-green German army truck parked next to a building. Two German soldiers are standing five feet from the truck smoking cigarettes. They're facing away out onto the perimeter of the base, sub-machine guns in hand. Robin draws his knife and silently slides out from under the truck. He approaches the guards from behind and readies himself. Covering the mouth with his left hand, he slits the throat of the nearest guard. The other guard turns casually wondering what's going on. He sees his dead companion and Robin, cries "Englander!" but gets a knife in the throat for his trouble.

"Crap!" mutters Robin as he loots the bodies of their ammo. "I'm supposed to be the sniper."

Just then, a shot rings out from the perimeter. Robin drops to the ground and hears a body drop behind him. He sees a third German soldier, dead on the ground. Robin waves to the other members of his team out in the forest and grins. "I love it when a plan comes together."

Hidden and Dangerous, published by TalonSoft and developed by Illusion Softworks, is a new squad level tactics shooter. Set during World War II and based on the British SAS, Hidden and Dangerous mixes first person and third person shooting with tactical planning and control of multiple units. It is not a Quake clone where you run around shooting people, picking power-ups off the ground, and dodging bullets. It is an original game where you sneak around shooting people, picking up weapons off their dead bodies, and praying they don't see you because one shot usually means death.
