Monolith's Blood II: The Chosen received a nothing short of a luke-warm reception when it came out only a couple of months ago. So why make an official add-on mission pack for the game, you might ask? Well despite the complaints about the poor AI and shoddy multiplayer, Blood 2 undoubtedly showed off just what the LithTech engine could muster when push came to shove. The visuals were not only impressive but also gory and remained true to the original Blood, giving fans something mull over. And if you took the time to finish the game, you'll remember a somewhat open-ended story. Enter Tequila Software and their Blood II Mission pack called Revelations.

So first things first, what we're dealing with here is a mission pack, thus the very first thing you'll want to know is that there will be whole host of new weapons (six) in addition to the plethora already in Blood II itself. These will range from the lowly throwing knife, harpoon gun and right up to the fire-breathing flame-thrower. Sadly there won't be a cheese-wire… Having said that, new magic (four new spells) has been promised, including the 'choke', which of course borrows Star Wars' very own Darth Vadar's tendencies.

The story will center on the Krest cult, which split off from the Cabal due to personal reasons early in Blood II. We say personal because the Krest felt that Gideon (the Cabal cult leader in Blood 2) was misguided in his obsession with finishing off Caleb. But guess what? Poor old Caleb (that's you) gets thrust into the spotlight (bloodlight?) once again as the Krest and their leader Cain decide that Gideon wasn't so wrong after all and begin to bay for Caleb's blood. Bloody hell...
