As you'd expect not only will there be new levels, cut-scenes and weapons but five new enemies have been drafted in (obviously the Krest is a new cult so new enemies are in order). Most importantly though Tequila Software has promised to work hard and correct the flawed enemy AI (see interview that follows) that was inherent in Blood II. Tequila Software feels that this mission pack deserves its bloody place when it comes out before Quake III: Arena and thus we've conversed with Peter Hopkins, Chief Executive of Tequila Software, to find out why. Tequila Software 'donated' (pun intended) a couple of new screenshots and interestingly enough Hopkins also goes on to mention their next project (being a 3D first person shooter):

What will make The Revelations stand out from other mission pack?

This mission pack is targeted for an official release including a gripping and unfolding story line. We are also concentrating on gameplay and what the gaming community like in single player games. We do feel level design/architecture is very important too, and Revelations will include original scenes and scripted action sequences bringing the gamer into the thickening plot.
Apart from new weapons and enemies what sort of other new surprises will there be?

Engine enhancements are our main priority at the moment, behind enemies, weapons and spells. Even though the LithTech is a great engine we feel we can push it further than any title has so far.

Enhancements will include real time snow, hugely increased enemy AI (due to many complaints about AI of enemies in blood 2) one thing you may be interested in is that we will be adding a feature to the chosen knife where you will be able to throw it at enemies.

What made you choose to do the mission pack for Blood2 over any other 3D first person shooter that came out in 1998? The LithTech engine?

Well really we chose to create a mission pack for Blood 2 as we enjoy playing it a great deal, the LithTech engine is spectacular and many stunning special effects can be achieved using it.

Another reason is that Tom Francis, our head of 2D/3D art and concept is the Blood 2 mascot for Monolith and he has had some input of weaponry and other ideas into the original Blood and Blood 2.

Monolith themselves have given us great support and are very encouraging (which is very rare these days for some companies, and we appreciate it a great deal) .

Blood 2 has a story line which can be continued and games such as half life don't and we feel we can expand upon the story and create a very enjoyable game, not only just from the point of its playability but its in-depth plot. Also we feel that our sadistic nature can be fully exploited in Blood 2.
