Intel Comments
While prices on the lower-end Intel processors aren't moving much, we begin to see some nice drops as we get to their P4 lines. And the $18 cut to the 2.2 GHz OEM Northwood P4 brings it down well below $400 this week, leaving it at its current price of $374. But with the just slightly slower 2 GHz OEM Northwood P4 costing only $256 after this week's $10 price drop, a few percentage points of performance might not be worth a 40% price jump.
General Comments
We see a few more price cuts on this week's AMD and Intel price charts, than we did last week. And it should be much to the delight of those looking to build high-end machines that the biggest drops came in on each company's flagship processor lines.
