Intel Comments
This week's Intel chart seems just as boring as the AMD one, right up until the final Pentium 4 listings, where we see a whopping $27 price drop on the retail 2.53GHz/533 P4, Intel's flagship processor. That decrease, in fact, leaves the retail flavor of the processor at the same price as its OEM counterpart... which should make this a no-brainer for anyone looking to build a P4 dream machine and having to choose between the two.
General Comments
This week's CPU price guide seems like it should be retitled "The Land That Time Almost Forgot", as most of the prices seem to be in stasis. The guide does contain one gem for those lucky buyers who want to build high-end Pentium 4 systems; but others will likely be disappointed with this week's limited CPU price changes.
