This week's Intel chart contains some gems, including a $17 drop on the price of the OEM 2.53GHz/533 Pentium 4 on the high end, and a $20 decrease on the price of the 950 MHz Celeron on the low end of the chart. But the intel listings also contain some price increases, so how excited you get by the guide will depend on exactly where on the chart you're looking to buy. In other news, the 2.26GHz/533 Pentium 4 models finally debut in this week's chart and should provide a new, slightly lower-end, alternative to those who want to take advantage a 533MHz P4 platform.
As mentioned in the Intel comments, your excitement level will vary depending on what speed and processor you intend to purcahse. AMD buyers will mostly be disappointed by this week's price-changes (or, rather, the absence of much change on any consumer-line processors), while Intel buyers might find an entry or two to get worked up about. In all, though, it's been a mostly underwhelming week... and month.
How about Intel and AMD prices on the same page? Here you have it, starting with high-end CPUs.
