There is exactly one exciting price drop on this week's Intel CPU chart: a $27 cut on the price of the Pentium 4-2.8GHz OEM. And with it now stated that Intel Pentium 4 pricing will remain stable for some time to come, that might be as much excitement as we see on the high-end for a while.
Are we going to have a happy holiday shopping season, as far as processors go? It's getting harder to tell. While Intel is expected to release its next flagship, short-term price slashes on existing high end processors are no longer expected... so who knows if we'll see much movement on either the AMD or Intel charts in the neat future. But we can certainly keep our fingers crossed.
