The biggest drop in the Intel chart is a $13 decrease in the price of the retail version of their flagship Pentium 4-3.06 GHz processor. But even at its new price of $625, that's 65% more than the next-fastest 2.8GHz Pentium 4, which can be found for a comparatively-low price of $379. Other than that price drop, we are also seeing some downward movement in the price of higher-speed Intel Pentium 4 XEON processors.
As is often the case, a week with some significant price drops is now being followed by a relatively slow one. But hopefully these near-frozen prices are just a side-effect of the blizzards that recently hit the Northeastern United States, and not the start of an ongoing trend.
