As far as consumer processors go, the only significant drop on the Intel chart is on the 2.5GHz/400MHz retail P4, which had held steady last week while other prices dropped. But with fewer and fewer vendors carrying it each week, its days in the guide may be numbered. We do see some price decreases on 400MHz bus XEON processors; and it's no coincidence that this week also heralds the debut of 533MHz bus XEONs in the guide.
It's no big surprise that this week's guide is less exciting than last week's, especially given how significantly Pentium 4 prices dropped then. But despite the relatively minor price changes that are scattered throughout the guide, overall value is still high and there are definitely a few gems to be found.
