This week's Intel chart, like the AMD one, sees the most significant drops on the prices of the highest-end processors. The $17 drop on the price of their flagship Pentium 4-3.06 GHz retail processor brings this powerhouse under the magic $500 level, and down to $498. But the $333 price tag of its next-fastest sibling, the retail Pentium 4-2.8 GHz, still seems like a better deal.
Those who have been waiting to buy the highest-end AMD or Intel processors will be happy they held off a bit longer, as buyers will get a nice price break in return for the extra week's wait. But while we do see a few nice price decreases in both charts, most processors have held steady in this week's guide.
