Weekly CPU Prices - Week of May 12, 2003 - Page 2

We see a couple of surprisingly large price drops on the highest-end retail Pentium 4 processors... but with May historically being a month when price cuts arrive on schedule, this may be a sign that one should wait and see what the rest of the month may bring. There are also rumors swirling that new Pentium 4 models will be introduced later this month.

General Comments

We continue to hold out hope that the end of May will bring the price cuts that so many of us have come to associate with this time of year. And so while much of the guide is static, the handful of price drops we find in the Intel chart might be the opening shots of an impending price-war. But who knows... maybe we're being too confident that history will repeat itself.
