Weekly CPU Prices - Week of May 19, 2003 - Page 2

With AMD taking the price cut lead on their high-end processors, it's a bit surprising that the Intel list didn't really budge. Sure, there are some noticeable cuts to a few CPUs, such as the Pentium 4-2.6 GHz and 3.0C GHz models, but for the most part, prices remained on an even keel.

General Comments

Now that May is almost over, the prospect of significant, across-the-line price cuts is starting to dwindle. There's still some time left, and AMD has done their part to give us at least some excitement this week. The static Intel prices are quite surprising, especially after the chip giant introduced some new Pentium 4 800 MHz models. Oh well, maybe next week these new processors will finally make their presence felt.
