Intel prices seem to be more frozen in place than the AMD processors are, as hard as that is to imagine. There are a few shifts, but even the high-end Pentium 4-2.8C and 3.0GHz models only dropped by a couple of bucks. We do have a new CPU entry in this week's guide, as the Celeron 2.6GHz makes its first appearance in the Intel chart.
Will July/August bring more price cuts, as we've traditionally witnessed in previous years? We certainly hope so, and the introduction of new processors in the last few weeks would seem to make that likely. But with both Intel and AMD patiently awaiting what comes next from each camp, it may be a little while before we see any earth-shaking movement in our weekly CPU pricing guide.
