Weekly CPU Prices - Week of July 21, 2003 - Page 2

As in last week's guide, one huge XEON price cut (this time on the 2.8GHz XEON) represents the only sizable price drop in the Intel chart. A $14 drop on the OEM version of the 3.0GHz/800 Pentium 4, however, should be welcome news to anyone looking to build an Intel-based powerhouse. There were a few other processors that received price cuts this week, but these were of small dollar amounts, and stopped abruptly at the Pentium 4-2.6 GHz level. Further down the list, we actually find some price increases.

General Comments

With no new product introductions in the past few weeks, it's becoming less and less likely that prices will keep dropping from guide to guide. But hopefully, we'll be seeing some more competition from both camps in the very near future.
