Weekly CPU Prices - Week of September 1, 2003 - Page 2

There isn't a single notable drop in this week's Intel chart, though we do see one price go up by $11. The biggest decrease, predictably, came in on the flagship Intel processor, the Pentium 4-3.2GHz/800. But at $227 more than the next-fastest Pentium 4-3.0GHz/800, it's going to take a lot more than that to make its price-performance match its top-end clock speed.

General Comments

Let's hope this season starting earning its name soon, and prices start to fall. It's been weeks since we saw anything in the CPU Price List to get excited about, and at current trends, it may be weeks yet before we do. This is especially true with school back in session, and any students who may be reading could probably use some price drops to help cheer them up.
