As in last week's guide (and in so many preceding ones), prices are once again holding steady in the Intel price chart, leaving us little to get excited about in this section of the guide. But with Intel no doubt watching AMD's recent Athlon 64 releases closely, some kind of response should not be long in the coming.
The Athlon 64's are released and Prescott is supposedly on its way, but so far, this is only reason to get excited if you have a sizable sum of money burning a hole in your pocket and want to be the first one on your block to have the latest and greatest from the folks at AMD. The rest of us, meanwhile, are waiting to see if the Athlon 64 will translate into increased competition between the two campus and lowered prices for their consumers. Only time will tell if we're going to see more than just leaves falling as the seasons shift.
