Weekly CPU Prices - Week of October 6, 2003 - Page 2

Although the top-end models received some activity, there's not a lot to get excited about in this week's Intel charts; but there should be some better news in the near future. With Intel expected to cut prices at the end of this month, we're hoping to finally have some real drops to report in the coming weeks, as vendors often start adjusting online listings in anticipation of price slashing sessions.

General Comments

While we did have a couple of nice price cuts in the AMD charts, it may be worth waiting a bit longer before making any higher-end CPU purchases. With Intel expected to slash prices at the end of this month and AMD likely to keep themselves price-competitive with some cuts of their own, those who've waited through week after week of stagnant prices might want to wait just a few more.
