Weekly CPU Prices - Week of January 5, 2004 - Page 2

There are a few price shifts on the Pentium 4 chart, but don't expect anything close to what we saw on the AMD side. While a couple of Pentium 4-3.2 GHz Extreme Edition processors do drop by over $20 in this week's charts, it's hard to get too excited when these still cost more than $900. We're hoping that it will only be a matter of time until Intel will firing back at the AMD camp with new releases and additional price drops.

General Comments

New year, new products, new prices... That's what we've seen in this first new guide of the year; at least in the AMD charts, anyway. Hopefully, bargain hunters will soon be reaping the benefits of increased competition between the two camps, and with some very attractive Athlon 64 prices, it may not be far off.
