Weekly CPU Prices - Week of February 9, 2004 - Page 2

While most Intel prices in this week's guide are holding steady, we do have one significant drop: the OEM version of the 3.2GHz P4 Extreme Edition is down $40 from last week's price. More news, however, comes in the form of some new (and old) entries in the guide. This comes as a result of some OEM processors now showing up with vendors who had previously stopped carrying them in inventory.

General Comments

This week's CPU price guide is noteworthy more for which processors are being listed than for the prices they're being listed at. While one $40 drop in the Intel charts helps keep the guide from being completely stagnant, it's still not a huge percentage cut when the processor sells for almost $900. The reappearance of some Intel processors that we'd stop tracking in recent guides might be of more interest to our weekly readers.
