As in the AMD charts, we don't see much downward movement in this week's Intel listings. Most processors are holding steady, with only a few dropping at all. We do see one $12 drop; but it comes in on the incredibly expensive Pentium 4-3.2GHz Extreme Edition, leaving the retail version of this processor at a whopping $945.
Are CPU prices stuck in a permanent funk? It may seem that way, given that we haven't seen much to get excited about recently. Even the recent price slashes have been mostly lukewarm, largely because the drops were restricted to a few processors... most of which were (and remain) relatively pricey. But hopefully the impending start of the 2004 industry shows will mean additional product introductions and more processor price drops.
