Weekly CPU Prices - Week of April 5, 2004 - Page 2

A $6 drop on the price of the OEM version of the Pentium 4-3.0C GHz/800 is the best this week's Intel chart has to offer, with no other processor dropping by more than a few dollars, and a few even slowly working their ways upwards in price. The only other news to be found in this section of the guide is the debut of the Pentium 4 Xeon 3.2GHz in the weekly guide, along with the return of the retail version of the Pentium 4-3.0E GHz Prescott.

General Comments

Once again, processor shoppers are going to be disappointed if they're expecting much in the way of downward movement in the Weekly CPU Price Guide, as neither the AMD nor Intel charts contain much in the way of exciting news. But as we move into a season that has traditionally brought price cuts from one or both camps, we're continuing to be hopeful that CPU prices will be livening up soon.
