As in the AMD charts, the Intel section of the guide contains only one notable price change. That $15 drop on the price of the Pentium 4-3.2E GHz Prescott is nice and all, but when almost every other processor in the Intel charts is holding steady in price, it's hard to get too excited about one modest drop. This is one of the most stable weeks ever for Intel CPUs, with even the Celeron and Xeon sections showing no price change at all.

General Comments

With little new in the way of Intel or AMD desktop product introductions, it's not surprising that CPU prices have been holding steady. The release of an Opteron 250, for example, is hardly going to make any consumer processors in either chart plummet in price. But as Spring turns to Summer and the temperature heats up, we're hoping that so too will the competition between AMD and Intel.
