A $10 cut to the price of the Pentium 4-2.66GHz retail model is the only drop worth taking notice of in this week's guide, with most of the other processors holding steady in price. There were a few small cuts to some of the higher-end processors, but these were offset by similar price increases. The only thing noteworthy in this week's Intel chart is the debut of the Pentium 540 and 550 LGA775 processors.
With little to nothing in the way of price drops in either chart, neither Intel nor AMD fans are going to have much to get excited about as they survey the prices tracked in the Weekly CPU Price Guide. Hopefully the coming weeks will be more eventful than the last few have been, and along with Intel's LGA775 processors pushing the line prices down, hopefully we'll also see some action on the Athlon 64 side.
