Our hopes of an Intel response to last week's AMD price cuts have, so far, gone unrealized. This week brings more of the same old same old, and even more stable in fact, with few Intel Pentium 4 prices dropping at all and none falling by more than a few dollars. The only news hits the Celeron camp, and although prices aren't moving, we have added the Celeron 320 (2.4GHz) to the Intel list, which joins the value side with a sub-$80 price tag.
Last week's foray into the Wild West of AMD price cuts, has unfortunately given way to the stagnation we're more accustomed to seeing in recent CPU price guides. While we see a handful of modest drops scattered among the AMD and Intel charts, there's nothing of the sort that made last week's guide the most rewarding, for dealer seekers, in a great many weeks.
