Weekly CPU Prices - Week of August 30, 2004 - Page 2

We have a few $10 drops on the Pentium 4-3.0 and 3.2 GHz Northwood and Prescott models, but overall it's been a pretty slow week for the Intel charts, with most holding right where they've been for the past couple of weeks. This is especially true of the mid-range, Pentium 4-2.4 to 2.8 GHz listings, which haven't moved significantly in a long time.

General Comments

The excitement of last week's price drops has given way for a far more sedate guide, where no price has dropped by more than $10 and most haven't dropped at all. Prices also moved up by approximately the same amount on some high-end CPUs, such as the Athlon 64 3700+ & 3800+ and the Pentium 4-3.4GHz Extreme Edition. So if you were hoping for lots of back-to-school savings, this week's guide will likely disappoint.
