Most of the Intel prices are right where they were last week; but a couple of significant drops do manage to keep things interesting. The biggest, a $52 drop in the price of the 3.6GHz P4 560, can mostly be explained by the fact that last week was its introduction to the charts and that processors often debut high and then immediately drop in price. The Pentium 4-3.4E GHz also dropped a healthy $20, and has now moved more in line with the Athlon 64 competitors.
A few scattered price drops help keep this week's CPU price guide from being a rehash of last week's listings. Although most prices are holding pretty steady, we do see a couple of significant, along with a few more modest, drops scattered among the listings in both camp's charts.
