Intel Comments
Unfortunately, the biggest price changes in this week's Intel chart are not moving in the right direction, and double-digit increases hit a couple of popular desktop models. The retail Pentium 4-3.0C GHz jumped by $19 and the 3.6GHz Pentium 4 560 is up by $10. Beyond this, Intel prices are holding steady, with only nominal changes to report.
General Comments
There is little to get excited in this week's price charts, with only a few prices dropping at all, a few more rising, and most holding right where there sat in last week's guide. But hopefully the upcoming onset of the holiday shopping season will get prices moving downward again. Either that, or stealth releases like the 3.8 GHz Pentium 4 570J might also lead to price cuts on the lower-clocked models.
