Intel Comments
In this week's guide, the overall price of Intel processors dropped by even less than their AMD counterparts, with none of the Pentium 4 or Celeron models decreasing by more than a few dollars. The only real processor news, in fact, is the debut of the 3.46GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition in the guide, which may be welcome news to some enthusiasts, but its $1,085 price tag will likely prove to be out of reach for more than a few of us.
General Comments
CPU prices continue to stagnate across all sections of the guide, with price drops becoming more and more of a rarity in recent editions. There were a couple of nice cuts on the AMD side, but overall, those waiting for larger or across-the-board price drops are likely to be disappointed at another guide that is almost entirely barren of them.
