While we don't see quite as much price activity here as we did in the AMD charts, the Intel list still contains some very significant price drops, with the largest being a $156 drop in the price of the Pentium 4 XEON 3.4GHz. The 3.6 GHz XEON dropped by $100 and the Pentium 4-3.46 GHz Extreme Edition fell by $70, which is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately, that is really the end of the line for Intel cuts and there is virtually no change on the mainstream Pentium 4 models.
On the heels of a guide that was as stagnant as we'd seen in a while comes this week's edition, which includes larger and more numerous price drops than we've seen in much longer than a while. Some may view it was a great time to buy, especially on the AMD side, while others may want to wait and see if even more price activity will follow in the coming weeks.
