Most of this week's Intel CPU chart is relatively sedate, but we do see a number of significant prices cuts, the biggest of which is a $34 drop in the price of the 3.4GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition. Even better, for those who'd rather not shell out the high price of an Extreme Edition processor, there is a $26 decrease on the 3.8GHz Pentium 4 570J, bringing its current price down to $699. There are also quite a few smaller cuts hitting the LGA775 Pentium 4 models, especially in the 3.0 to 3.4 GHz range.
While our CPU price list has settled down considerably in comparison to the radical drops we saw two weeks ago, there is still definite activity in both the AMD and Intel camps. This is also not limited to a single processor line, as everything from the AMD Opteron to the Pentium 4 "J" series felt the impact, making this week another good one for bargain hunters.
