We have a couple of noticeable price cuts in the XEON section of the guide, such as a $40 drop in the price of the 3.2GHz Pentium 4 XEON and a $28 decrease hitting the price of its 3.4GHz Pentium 4 XEON sibling. The rest of the Intel chart is far less exciting, and we see very little movement in either the Celeron or Pentium 4 lists. And to add insult to injury, the Pentium 4-3.4 GHz Extreme Edition jumped $21.
There are some processor gems to be found across both major sections of the guide, but we're leaning toward AMD for the desktop crowd. The XEON drops are great for the corporate end of things, but there was virtually no movement on the Pentium or Celeron lines. While most of the prices we track are holding steady, we do nonetheless see some significant drops which should come as good news for those tracking one of these processors.
