In terms of price activity, there's even less to report in the Intel processor chart than there was in the AMD section of the guide. The only real news is the entry of several Celeron models into our weekly guide, including the 2.93 GHz Celeron 340J, and two 3.06 GHz Celeron 345 LGA 775 and Socket 478 models. But with few prices dropping at all and none dropping by more than a few dollars, this is unlikely to be a guide that will send many people rushing to buy a new Intel processor.
Overall, this week's CPU price guide is about as stagnant as we've seen in a long while. Price drops, when they can be found at all, are few, modest, and far between and there is remarkable consistency between the AMD and Intel charts. But with the continued release of new dual core processors, we remain hopeful that we'll soon be seeing some renewed price competition between the two camps.
